In-Line Filters
There are two types of filters used in hot melt systems: tank filters & in-line filters.
In-line filters are extremely important in reducing the transfer of char from the hose to the gun. An in-line filter assembly will come with either a straight, 45 degree or 90 degree filter body that houses a small in-line mesh filter and mounts to your applicator gun. The mesh of the filters will depend on what diameter nozzle you are using. For example, the larger diameter nozzle, the lower number mesh you should be using.
